The Weather: Holy cow, I don’t think I’ve ever been this cold while photographing a couple! It was 17 degrees and snowing during Katy and Josh’s session, poor Katy had a dress on and I had a sweatshirt, coat, jacket and gloves ( and was still shivering). She is the BOMB and was such a trooper.
The Location: Katy and Josh where great enough to drive up to North Chagrin Reservation for their session, I am so grateful for that because I was familiar with the location and knew my way around! We started at the Nature Center which ended up being a GREAT idea because half way through we went inside and got to warm up and talk for a few minutes about the wedding day. After the Nature Center, Katy changed her outfit and we took a few more photos and then ended our time together at a pretty bridge in the park. North Chagrin is massive and even in the dead of winter has some beautiful photo locations!
The Couple: Katy and Josh where perfect! I was so excited to finally meet in person with the both of them. They where both so easy to work with and BOTH of Katy’s dresses had pockets, my kind of girl! Since it was so cold their gallery has plenty of cuddly, hugging, keep me warm photos and are some of my favorite!
Extras: Katy and Josh are GSP fanatics and one of the things that made our session together special. Katy asked a few nights before her session if they’d ever be able to meet our pups (GSP’s), so I arranged to have my sister come with me to the session and surprise them with Jackson. This was extra special to me, to be able to surprise my couple with something as simple as my dog. I love finding something special to share with my brides and couples and this just made our time together that much more unique. So excited for their May wedding!
