So fun fact- Pete’s grandma (Sandy) was the one to hire us for photos! While this is not the typical way I usually go about being booked (emails, texts, video chats) this one was so special. Sandy and I went back and forth about what was needed and at the end of it all was excited to be photographing their wedding. I also want to give a shout out to Sandy, she planned the whole wedding and did a fantastic job!
Pete and Stewart were just as sweet as can be. The amount of love these two share for each other is so evident and they balance each other out perfectly. Stewart just brings something out in Pete and you can especially see it in photos of them being snuggly! They are also huge Star Wars and Harry Potter fans(ME TO!), as shown in their cake topper!
My, oh my! The Steele Mansion is such a beautiful old mansion that has been renovated recently and it makes for some great photos! It has giant windows and old furniture that makes everything look so elegant. Pete and Stewart had rented the entire place out so we had it all to ourselves which was amazing! This mansion is perfect for intimate weddings; with great food made on location, rich local history and a beautiful spot for photos The Steele Mansion is perfect for the classic bride!
Odds and Ends
I was SO nervous about the weather for this wedding! Spring weddings always have a chance of being rainy and cold but both of them on the same day is never fun and the forecast was calling for rain and cold ALL week! BUT by Friday it had changed to just cloudy and 50 degrees. While we did have some sprinkles during portraits it barely warranted a umbrella, I am so thankful it held out, there’s nothing worse then being cold and wet, let alone on your wedding day!
For portraits we did family photos in front of the mansion and then for bridal portraits we took a quick ride across the street to Lake Erie College. These have to be some of my favorite portraits ever! I’ve always wanted to photograph the red bud trees that line a side walk there and they had only been in bloom MAYBE 4 days, I also may have driven by everyday for two weeks before the wedding hoping they’d have some color on them :D. From the college we took a trip down to Painesville Township Park to get some photos near the lake for Stewart and then bounced back to the mansion which has a beautiful old wood fence with ivy growing on it lining the property line. So many great spots, I could have taken portraits for hours!
It was such a great wedding to kick of my 2019 season with! Congratulations Pete and Stewart. I wish you two nothing but happiness!
